At Hope 4 Liberia, we are blessed with a team of faithful, loving, and hardworking staff members who pour their hearts into caring for the children God has entrusted to us. But even caregivers need to be cared for. In the African way of life, community is not complete without times of laughter, good food, and togetherness — and this past week, we made time to do just that.
We hosted two wonderful gatherings: Women’s Night for our ladies, and Men’s Night for our brothers. These weren’t just casual meetups — they were moments filled with joy, fellowship, and reminders that those who serve also deserve to be refreshed.
The men gathered around a table, sharing jokes, playing cards, and competing in games that stirred up friendly rivalry and plenty of laughter. Afterward, they sat together over generous plates of Liberian-style spaghetti and cold drinks, eating like brothers, talking about life, and encouraging one another in the work God has called them to. In African culture, meals aren’t just about food — they are about family. And that’s exactly what this night was.

Meanwhile, our women enjoyed their own evening of connection and sisterhood. They shared stories, encouraged each other, and embraced the beautiful bond that comes when women of faith gather. In both gatherings, we saw the truth of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”

These special moments are more than just events — they are part of the heartbeat of Hope 4 Liberia. When we nurture the caregivers, we strengthen the entire ministry. The joy that fills their hearts overflows into the care they give the children. The unity formed at these gatherings makes the work lighter and the burdens easier to bear.
In Liberia, we know that no one walks alone. A proverb reminds us: “One finger cannot lift a pebble.” It takes many hands, many hearts, and a shared faith in Jesus Christ to carry out this mission. And it is a beautiful thing when those hands come together — whether to work, to worship, or to simply enjoy each other’s company.

We are thankful for our incredible staff, whose love and dedication reflect the heart of God to our children every single day. May these nights of laughter and fellowship remind them, and all of us, that we are a family — woven together by grace, strengthened by faith, and held together by hope.
To God be the glory.
