There are some volunteers whose presence is loud — and others whose impact speaks quietly through their consistency, humility, and heart. Nehemiah Kehwillie is the latter.
A final-semester student at African Bible College University, Nehemiah joined us for the month of July as a farm hand. With an Education major and a Biblical Studies minor, his academic background is strong — but it was his character that stood out most.
Nehemiah is quiet, easy-going, and humble. From the moment he arrived, his work ethic was undeniable. He was punctual, focused, and fully committed to whatever task was set before him. Whether planting, clearing, or tending to the daily routines of the farm, he did it all with care — not for recognition, but because he truly believes in doing all things as unto the Lord.
In his own words, “By God’s grace, I was able to serve and be inspired in a way that has strengthened my faith and deepened my walk with Christ… My experience at Hope 4 Liberia brought me so much joy and has given me a fresh perspective on ministry—it is indeed a God-centered way of living.”
He reflected, “I learned valuable lessons about family, relationships, and what it truly means to serve with love.” And that’s exactly what we saw in him: love expressed not in words, but in faithful service.
We’re grateful for the example Nehemiah set — for our boys especially, who got to see what steady, godly manhood can look like. His personality, his spirit, and his commitment are always welcome here. His time with us was a blessing from God.
