Raising Hearts for God: The Gift of Devotion in Our Homes

Our ministry is built on more than providing shelter, meals, and education. The foundation of what we do is rooted in the Word of God — and one of the most beautiful ways we nurture this in the hearts of our children is through daily devotionals in the homes.

Every morning and evening, our children gather together with their caregivers for a time of prayer, Scripture reading, and reflection. It’s during these sacred moments that they learn not just about God, but how to pray, how to trust, and how to lean on Him for strength in every season of life. These times are filled with worship, honest questions, laughter, and sometimes even tears. It’s in these simple gatherings that eternal seeds are being planted.

In Liberia, as in many parts of the world, faith is not something to be reserved for Sunday mornings — it’s meant to shape daily life. And at Hope 4 Liberia, we believe that family devotion is not something we begin when we are grown, but something that is cultivated from the earliest days of childhood. It’s an investment today that prepares our children for tomorrow’s challenges and blessings.

We are so grateful for our caregivers, like the incredible Head Mother and Boys’ Home Manager and staff who faithfully lead these times, modeling godliness and love. Their example reminds the children that faith is a lived experience, not just a set of lessons.

Our dream is for these boys and girls to one day grow into men and women who will gather their own families for devotion, carrying this legacy of faith to the next generation.

As the Word tells us:

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Thank you for standing with us as we raise not just healthy, educated children — but children of faith, hope, and purpose.
