A couple of weeks ago on a Tuesday evening I hosted a ladies night for the ladies who work at H4L. There were 6 of us that could come. I made spicy chicken Alfredo pasta. (Yes I made enough for the men, too. The men were very concerned about that. Lol) 😁
And I made jello for everyone - ladies, men and kids. It is so hot here that a nice cool cup of jello is very nice. I'm not much of a jello fan and haven't eaten it at home probably since I was a kid but it was definitely a nice cool treat. And adults and kids loved it!!
For ladies night we started our evening with food and a short devotional based on Proverbs 31:25b. "She can laugh without fear of the future." We don't have to be afraid of what the future holds as long as we have our trust in Jesus. And we can know that He cares about our future and will be with us in our future. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope & future." Then we watched the movie Mary Poppins. It was a nice relaxing evening with no thoughts for the ladies of taking care of kids or having to clean up. Because while we were having our ladies night, Jim was in charge of the kids. He taught them how to play dodgeball and they loved it! They have played it many times since then.
Jim had the kids help him do the dishes from the kids' supper and cleaned the kitchen. So when the ladies were finished with ladies night they didn't have to go do dishes or clean the kitchen.
We enjoyed our ladies time together and look forward to next month's H4L ladies night.
